Hi! Welcome to Nora’s digital garden, inspired by unascribed and, indirectly, quat. It’s less formal than my blog, and much easier to update, but without version control or an RSS feed.
I take personal notes in a notebook. This site is for notes about computing, or which are easier to take at a computer, or which I want to share with others. It’s also a place for me to test out new tech, methods, and practices; for example, the whole site is written in Djot, rather than Markdown or raw HTML.
This site is intentionally written in a way that makes it feel a little… unfinished, or old-fashioned. Like a printout from an old computer, but without the polish or flair of my main site. It’s 80 characters wide, for instance, like a computer terminal.
The content for this site is written in Djot. The overall setup is shamelessly stolen from Una’s in general, including my Eleventy.js config. I write content in Vim or via my copyparty instance, and it’s Syncthing’d to my server within a few seconds, where it’s rendered and served by the Eleventy dev server. That means JavaScript users get real-time updates!
